The story
The Castle of Razay
The construction of the Château de Razay took place over four centuries. Different styles coexist: Gothic, Neo-Gothic, and Renaissance. A former fiefdom of the Château de Montrichard, it was owned by the Château de Montpoupon family until the 20th century.
Legend has it that one of Leonardo da Vinci's disciples built this château, and that a cousin of Catherine de Medici stayed there to be closer to her during her visits to Chenonceau.
From 1939 to 1945, the Château de Razay was a Resistance center. In the 1960s, it fell into public domain and was then acquired by EDF, which transformed it into a holiday center for the children of its employees.
In the early 2000s, the château was sold to Mr. and Mrs. Duvivier. The farmhouse was then separated from the estate and the château became a hotel.
In 2022, we purchased the Château de Razay with the aim of making it a place that reflects our image, renovating it gradually and offering new services each year.

All our rooms are equipped with Treca beds, exceptional mattresses made from noble and natural materials (silk, cashmere, mohair wool, linen, and cotton), high-end bedding made in France for a dream sleep.

A unique experience Atypical dwellings
On the edge of the forest and facing the castle, these unique, all-wooden dwellings offer you the unique experience of sleeping in the heart of nature.
The chalets, fully glazed for total immersion, can accommodate up to 6 people. The wooden cabins for 2 people are nestled in the trees with breathtaking views of the park. Or, rediscover your inner child in the Tiny Houses. These small, light-wood cabins for 3 people will be a dream come true.
All of our unique accommodations feature Treca bedding for dreamlike comfort.
